My heart has always felt fullest when helping seniors. As a young girl, I felt inspired watching my grandmother work with seniors through this time we spent together my love for seniors only grew. I received my bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Pepperdine. Focused on geriatric care I received my Administrator Certificate License for Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly in 2004.
After receiving my Administrator Certification in 2004, I began my career in senior care as an operator of assisted livings over the last 20 years. where I owned and operated residential care homes
I feel fortunate that now as Geriatric Care Advisor, currently completing CSA (Certified Senior Advisor (CSA)® at The Assisted Living Specialist, where I works closely with assisted living facilities, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes and home care, home health and hospice agencies.
As a Geriatric Care Advisor, I can continue my passion in offering expertise and compassion to families, while offering a broader range of options. Together at The Assisted Living Specialist, we feel that answers to a family’s care and living needs is to know that choices are available to them and to provide them with the best possible solution, while, keeping their families budget in mind.
Most recently, we have expanded beyond Los Angeles County and are thrilled to announce we have further expanded into Ventura and Orange County.
My most treasured time is spent with my her husband and my three girls. Hobbies include travel, helping the community, and enjoying the quality time with the family.

My name is Janette Fishman and I am a Senior Placement Agent with The Assisted Living Specialist. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a close relationship with the senior community. From visiting one Grandmother every Sunday in the city to spending summers in Hungary with my other Grandmother, I have always had a close bond & deep respect to the elders in my family. But beyond family, I have had close ties to this community from my time performing at local Assisted Living facilities while in elementary school all the way up to writing my college thesis on interpersonal and intercultural communication in the senior community. And now coming full circle, I have the honor to care for my parents in their “golden years”. Always with natural compassion, it would seem only appropriate to be in a field wherein I am given the opportunity to work with seniors and assist them (and their families) in finding the best care options for their specific needs.

Neil Kogan
Neil Kogan is a compassionate professional with a lifelong dedication to bringing joy and comfort to others. His journey began with a deep-rooted love for music and over time realized this innate passion brightened the lives of others.
Neil’s inspiration to serve seniors was sparked by a pivotal moment in his life when his beloved Grandmother, Rosalia, needed additional care and support. Once Belinda and Dale provided caregivers to Rosalia, Neil witnessed the amount of care and compassion his Grandmother was receiving. With that and seeing her ensconced in this nurturing environment, an indelible mark was left with Neil. He knew right then he needed to follow a path of caring for seniors and their families.
Neil then embarked on a journey to become a licensed administrator for Residential Care for the Elderly. In July of 2023, he successfully passed his licensing exam and was equipped with the knowledge and tools to help guide seniors and their families through the challenging transition to residential care.
With an empathetic heart and a commitment to excellence, Neil is dedicated to transforming moments of uncertainty and chaos into ones of understanding and tranquility for his clients. He strives to provide unparalleled support, ensuring that every individual under his care receives the attention, dignity, and peace they deserve.
